Woke up to a lovely day and have decided to go for a walk
into Yass which is only about 1km. Checked out the “Booteek”, did a shop at
Aldi and then a nice breakfast at The Rose Café. A really lovely old town with lots of old heritage
listed buildings and a fabulous old bridge over the Yass River with a walking
track along the river. Hit the road at 10.40am heading towards Cowra. Lunch at Cowra then thru Blayney towards
Carcoar Dam for our camp for tonight. Unfortunately we did the “IRO” at Carcoar,
lots of caravans and so windy it was unpleasant. In the camp book it states that it is windy
and with a wind farm just across the lake I think it is always a little
unpleasant. Have managed to find a camp spot at Sofala (NSW417) which is
absolutely beautiful. No one around us
and right beside a lovely little stream which is called the Turon River. Not much of a river definitely more of a
stream. Tried out the “Swedish Log Fire” tonight and it worked a real treat.
