Sunday 11th Oct 2015 Cassilis - Bowling Alley Point

Heading towards a camp that we have stayed at before at Wodomin which is south of Tamworth and off the beaten track.  Stopped at Merriwa for a walk up the main street and a look in "The Hut" where there is lots of hand crafts obviously made by the local ladies as well as some old museum pieces near the men's shed part of the building.  Spotted an old mixer that reminded me of the mixers Dad used in the bakehouse at Greensborough to make all the cakes, brought back some good old memories. Bought our MT and now heading towards Scone on a B road where we stopped on the side of the road opposite some very curious cows to make a cuppa and have our MT. Stopped at Murrurundi Station to watch a couple of trains go thru.  First the 12.00noon passenger train to Sydney and then 10 mins later a huge coal train - Barry thinks he has died and gone to heaven, loves his trains.  Next stop is Nundle Woollen Mill.  What an interesting place and to think it is still a working Mill is fantastic.  Have stopped at Bowling Alley Point Free Camp on Chaffey Dam 7km south of Woolomin.  Lovely spot overlooking the water and very tempted to go for a swim.  Quite warm today high 20's with a gentle breeze.
